Every Penny Counts in our Fight!

Not only does MountaineerTHON fund raise as a whole organization, but each participant also works throughout the year to fundraising to reach personal fundraising goals on Donor Drive, which for this year is a minimum of $50, but we encourage to raise as much as you can, For The Kids. Every penny raised through Donor Drive and through other means gets added to our final reveal at the end of the marathon in the fall.

Utilize Family and Friends: Talk with friends, family, coworkers, peers, etc. Those relationships account for a huge amount of fundraising from individuals each year. Reach out to family and friends across the country through social media, email or handwritten letters.

Donor Drive will tweet for you when you get donations as another way of saying thank you to those who have supported you.
Letter Writing: Writing letters is a great way to reach out to people! Family members or friends that are long distance respond well to a handwritten letters or emails. Write out your story and your experiences with MountaineerTHON and let them know what MountaineerTHON is about and how they can affect our local families. Give them a handwritten link to your personal DonorDrive account or even follow up with a phone call!
Small Businesses: You know somebody, who knows somebody, who knows somebody, right? If you have personal connections with a small businesses, reach out and see how they can help. When talking about MountaineerTHON, remember to explain how MountaineerTHON helps local families and how the organization has affected your college experience. Also ask about donation matching which will increase your amount greatly.
Percentage Nights: Everyone loves an excuse to go out to eat. We hold percentage nights every few weeks during both the fall and spring semesters. Grab your friends and get a bite to eat. Don't worry, it's For the Kids. Check our social media pages to find out when our next percentage night is.
Canning: Our Fundraising and Recruitment team is planning some canning trips to stand outside with a few of your friends and raise money for your personal accounts. We are also in the process of trying to get some canning time outside of local Walmart stores. Keep checking back and looking at our social media pages for more information when canning will occur. If you plan to do your own canning, please use caution on roadways and make sure you ask permission from a store manager before standing outside of a business!
